Business Breakfast CCIFP: Wage pressure vs. current geopolitical situation and economic forecasts

The first quarter of 2022 will see wage growth of about 10 percent, and in the second half of the year the increase will drop significantly, experts predicted just a few months ago. In the passing months, more than half of workers made wage demands to employers in an effort to protect themselves from high inflation and new regulations imposed by the “Polish New Deal”. On the other hand, economists were pointing out that the vast majority of companies - nearly 3/4 - were still reporting labor productivity increase no slower than wages.

These are all data and forecasts that were valid up until February 24. The current geopolitical situation in Ukraine and the employment market outlook are likely to further destabilize the labor market, while also affecting employee and employer pay expectations and opportunities.

We invite you to discuss the trend of increasing wages, the destabilization of the employee market by the conflict in Ukraine, and the challenges you face in managing wages at this time. The meeting will be moderated by Bertrand Jannet, Partner at Calan.
