Aloxe forms partnership with Ergis Recycling to invest in a major new rPET plant in Poland

Aloxe, the independent leader in recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET) in Europe, announced an agreement to invest in a new extrusion plant in Wąbrzeźno, Poland, in partnership with Ergis Recycling, the PET recycling division of Ergis Group located in Płock.

A major investment in 40,000 t rPET Food Grade output capacities in 2023 for both companies. Production is planned to start in spring 2024.

The rPET needs of the European beverage industry are tremendous given regulations requiring 25% recycled content in beverage bottles by 2025 and 30% by 2030). Industries such as food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and home and personal care are also committed to using recycled content.

“Poland is a major market in Europe and with this new plant we will be able to meet the needs of leading brands and plastic packaging industry for high-quality and food grade recycled PET,” said Arnaud Piroëlle, Aloxe’s Executive Director. “Packaging recycling is a key enabler on the road to carbon neutrality for brand owners. We will continue to support our customers efforts to achieve their ambitious sustainability goals”.

Tadeusz Nowicki comments that "the partnership between Ergis Group and Aloxe is a consequence of Ergis' long-term policy based on the use of increasing amounts of recycled materials. Today, Ergis Group incorporates more than 40,000 tonnes of recycled PET, PE, and PVC materials into its products and is developing new recycling processes."

In the agreement, Aloxe was supported by IPOPEMA Securities S.A. as financial advisor.
